Welcome to Stackup! This guide will walk you through the essential steps to set up your organization and start managing your crypto operations with enterprise-grade security and simplicity.
Who is this guide for?
This guide is for founders, CFOs, and finance team members who need to set up their organization's blockchain operations. You don't need to be a crypto expert—Stackup is designed to make crypto operations as simple as traditional banking.
Prerequisites
A business email address
A device for passkey authentication
Basic understanding of your organization's financial needs
1. Create your organization
Setting up your Stackup organization is the first step toward streamlined blockchain operations.
Go to app.stackup.fi and click Sign Up
Enter your business email address and click Register with Passkey
Add a passkey when prompted by your device (this replaces traditional private keys for enhanced security)
Check your email for a verification code and enter it on the next screen
Enter your organization name
Click Create Organization
A summary of features will appear. Click Next
If you want to invite team members you can enter their email addresses and click Send Invite
Click Continue to Dashboard
You will now see your organization’s first wallet.
What is a passkey?
Passkeys are a more secure alternative to passwords and private keys. They use your device's biometric security (like Touch ID or Face ID) to authenticate you. You'll never need to worry about losing private keys or hardware wallets again.
2. Fund your wallet
Before you can start sending transactions, you'll need to add funds to your wallet.
From the Home page, select the wallet you want to fund
Click Deposit
Choose your funding method:
From a browser wallet: Click Connect Wallet and enter the amount and token.
From another wallet: Click Copy new wallet address and use your wallet’s interface to send funds
From Bank: Close the dialog and follow the instructions to connect your bank.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the transfer
Your funds will appear in your wallet once the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain
What about gas fees?
Stackup handles gas fees across all chains automatically! You don't need to hold native tokens like ETH to transact.
3. Invite team members
Stackup lets you give specific access to team members without sharing private keys.
Click Team in the left sidebar
Click Invite User
Enter the team member's email address
Select the user’s organization role
If the user is not an organization admin, select which wallets you want them to see
Click Send Invite
The team member will receive an email with instructions to join your organization
4. Set up roles and permissions
Stackup offers a two-tiered permissions system with organization roles and wallet-specific roles.
From your dashboard, click Team in the left sidebar
Assign appropriate organization roles to team members (Admin or Member)
For wallet-specific permissions:
Go to Home and select a wallet
Click the Access menu item in the sidebar
Add team members with appropriate roles (Owner, Admin, or View-only)
For custom permissions, create a role with specific spending limits
Pro tip
