Quick Start for Founders

Prev Next

As a founder, your time is valuable—we've designed this guide to get you operational in under 5 minutes. See the Stackup Essentials Guide for a more complete overview of the platform.

Before You Begin

You'll need:

  • A business email address

  • A device that supports passkeys

  • 5 minutes of focused time

1. Set Up Your Organization (2 min)

Start by creating your organization and setting up your first wallet:

  1. Go to app.stackup.fi and click Sign Up

  2. Enter your business email and complete verification

  3. Create a passkey when prompted. This passkey will become the default authentication method for your new wallet, so we recommend using a password manager or YubiKey if you have one.

  4. Enter your organization name and your role

  5. Click Create Organization

2. Set Up Your Core Team (optional, 1 min)

Invite your cofounders and key team members:

  1. Go to TeamInvite Member

  2. Enter email addresses for your key team members

  3. Assign appropriate organization roles:

    • Admin: Co-founders and executives (can manage the entire organization)

    • Member: Everyone else (limited access for security)

  4. Click Send Invites

Then, give them access to your wallet:

  1. Go to Wallets → select your wallet → Access Control

  2. Click Add Team Member

  3. Select a team member and assign a role:

    • Owner: You and trusted co-founders only

    • Admin: Key team members who need broad permissions

    • Custom: Create roles with specific spending limits for others

    • View Only: Accountants or others that you want to see your wallet and workspace, but not transact

Security Note

Only the owner of the wallet can deploy the wallet on new chains. If you lose access to the owner passkey, you won’t be able to deploy the wallet on new chains but all other team members will have access.

3. Fund Your Wallet (2 min)

Add funds to start transacting:

  1. Go to Wallets → select your wallet

  2. Click Deposit

  3. Choose your funding method:

    • From a browser wallet: Click Connect Wallet and enter the amount and token

    • From another wallet: Click Copy new wallet address and use your wallet’s interface to send funds

    • From Bank: Close the dialog and follow the instructions to connect your bank

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the transfer

  5. Your funds will appear in your wallet once the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain

Best Practice

Start with a small test transaction before moving significant funds.

First Week Priorities

Now that you're set up, here are your next steps:

  1. Swap your treasury to USDC or other tokens of your choice, as you no longer need gas tokens

  2. Add backup keys and team members so you always have access to your funds

  3. Request for regular vendors or payroll

Avoiding Common Pitfalls

  • Don't overcomplicate: Start with one wallet before expanding

  • Don't forget to back up: Take time to properly set up roles and permissions

  • Don't ignore documentation: Record your wallet addresses and structure

  • Don't skip testing: Run small test transactions before full implementation
