# Managing Proxy Addresses

## What is a proxy address?

A proxy address is a permanent blockchain address that creates an automated pathway between your crypto assets and either a bank account. Think of it as a pre-configured bridge that automatically routes funds to their destination.

![A proxy address is used to convert stablecoins into dollars.](https://cdn.document360.io/dbfbaa96-255a-451a-bce5-b89923e769bb/Images/Documentation/image-1746831820929.png)

Any funds sent to a proxy address are automatically liquidated to your bank via ACH transfer.

## How to create a proxy address

1. From your dashboard, click your Organization **Settings** at the bottom of the left sidebar
2. Click **Connect Network**
3. Select the network you want to add and click **Connect Bank to Network**
4. Your bank account’s proxy address is now available to [send funds to your bank](/v1/docs/sending-funds-to-your-bank)

> [!WARNING]
> Proxy Addresses are chain-specific
>
> Proxy addresses are different on each network.

## How it works

### For bank account destinations

When you send USDC to your proxy address, our partner Bridge automatically processes an ACH transfer to your connected bank account. Bridge calls proxy addresses [Liquidation Address](https://apidocs.bridge.xyz/docs/liquidation-address) because all funds sent to it are liquidated immediately to your bank.

**Processing timeline:**

- Transfers are batched daily at 1:00 pm EST/EDT
- Funds typically arrive in 1-2 business days
- You'll receive email notifications at each step

Stackup never has custody of your funds during this process. Conversion of your funds is subject to your agreement with the partner that you entered into during the KYB process.

## Troubleshooting

**Q: My funds haven't arrived in my bank account**

A: ACH transfers can take up to 2 business days after the 1:00 pm EST/EDT batch processing. If it's been longer, check your transaction history to verify the status or contact our support team.

**Q: Can I change the destination of an existing proxy address?**

A: No. For security reasons, proxy addresses are permanently linked to their destination. You'll need to create a new proxy address for a different destination.

**Q: Are there any fees for using proxy addresses?**

A: Stackup charges a fee for fiat conversions with our partner. See [Pricing](/v1/docs/pricing-plans).

## Partner services

We partner with Bridge to process direct ACH transfers and fiat conversions. The proxy address connected to your bank is a Bridge address specifically configured to liquidate to your account.
